An issue that seriously frustrates me, that i keep forgetting to deal with has become such an annoyance to myself that I’ve decided to write about it, to hopefully remind me next time to cut out the stupidity and deal with it in the a logical and smart way!

I tend to love drinking water, and a lot of it, when ever it is at hand i can guzzle away like a thirsty camel deprived of water for months. My only dilemma is the “effort” involved in getting to my favorite watering hole, be it the water cooler down the corridor from the office, or downstairs in the kitchen at home.

The problem comes when i eventually manage to peel myself way from what ever i might be doing, which is usually something computer related and i am in a zombie like focused state that it is an incredible chore to get out of. I would go along with my little glass (if i was in the office) walk to the water cooler, fill the glass with water, and then begin my walk back to my office.

Yet here is the problem, on my walk back to the office i end up drinking the whole glass, that by the time I’ve managed to sit back down i am faced with one or possibly two issues.

I have now finished my glass but i am still thirsty!

My glass is empty for the future and i would need to go back to the cooler!

So now i would have to sit and face out the rest of the time without being motivated enough to get more water, until thirst becomes intolerable, or i just give up on the idea and have some water when it so presents itself within arms reach.

This issue becomes even more extreme if it involves going downstairs in the house especially if i am in the comfort of my own bed!

A few simple solutions fix this, yet i constantly absent mindedly end up forgetting.

When at the water cooler, stay and drink until thirst is quenched, then before leaving fill the glass up one last time and take a full glass back to the desk!

Get a water bottle, and refill the whole thing (strangely enough i always have one next to me but forget to refill it)

Get the office assistant to get me some drink! (but alas i feel it too demeaning to make someone get things like drinks for me – something that doesn’t stop others in the office abusing!!!)

So a reminder to myself, be patient, drink at the cooler, and return with a full glass of water!!
